Vivo has unveiled a new mid-range 5G smartphone named Vivo Y53s 5G in China. The phone is meant to be a 5G option for those who are on a tight budget. It is packed with specifications that are decent enough for the price tag. It even has a high refresh rate display that has started to become a common theme among smartphone releases.
The Vivo Y53s 5G sports a 6.58-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD notched display with a 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 processor coupled with 8GB of RAM. It is available with storage options: 128GB and 256GB. Both of these storage options are available with the same RAM amount.
The phone has dual rear cameras including a 64-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. The front camera is an 8-megapixel sensor housed within the notch. The whole package is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. It will run OriginOS 1.0 based on Android 11 out of the box. There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner that resides within the power button.
Here is the Vivo Y53s 5G pricing: 8GB/128GB for CNY 1,799 (about $281) and 8GB/256GB for CNY 1,999 (about $319). It can be pre-ordered in China but sales will start June 11th.
