UPDATE (June 22nd, 2021):

Cyberpunk 2077 is finally available on the Sony PlayStation Store once again. The important thing to note is that the game listing now comes with a special notice recommending PlayStation 4 users to avoid the game. The game is advised to be played on either PlayStation 4 Pro or PlayStation 5 console. If you are interested in trying out the game now, you can download it by visiting the store.

Original (June 16th, 2021)

CD Projekt Red (CDPR) has announced that Cyberpunk 2077 is all set to make a PlayStation Store return next week. To be specific, the controversial game will become available for download starting June 21st. It means interested gamers will be able to get their hands on the title after a wait that has lasted for over six months.

Cyberpunk 2077 was originally launched for all major gaming platforms in December 2020. It was one of the most hyped games of the time but the actual game experience, especially for console players, was nowhere close. The complaints were increasing with each passing day and as a result, Sony was not only forced to take down Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store but also to announce a full refund for all PS4 gamers who purchased the digital version and wanted one.

It was also revealed that this was not a permanent takedown. The game was removed only for the time being it was good enough to play and was delivering on the claims. It seems like CDPR has finally done enough to convince Sony about re-instating the game on the PlayStation Store. If you are one of those fans waiting for the release, it is only a week away.

It is important to note that CDPR has only revealed Cyberpunk 2077 release date for PlayStation consoles. There are no details about what changes have been made. However, Sony has said that it does not recommend Cyberpunk 2077 for PlayStation 4 users.

Here is what a Sony spokesperson said,

“Users will continue to experience performance issues with the PS4 edition while CD Projekt Red continues to improve stability across all platforms. [Sony Interactive Entertainment] recommends playing the title on PS4 Pro or PS5 for the best experience."
