Super Follows and Ticketed Spaces are two of the monetization features that Twitter is working on for some time. These have also surfaced in reports revealing their functionality and how they can benefit users. Both of these features are now officially expanding to select users around the world and Twitter has started accepting applications.
Ticketed Spaces is a monetized version of the Twitter Spaces feature available to everyone. It lets users create audio rooms that can only be joined by those who pay for the entry ticket. A creator can set the ticket price anywhere between $1 and $999. They will also be allowed to set a room size cap if they wish to. It seems like they can have a Ticketed Space of at least 5 people but it can go up to 100. As for letting attendees know, they will be able to send push as well as in-app notifications to users ahead of the start.
As for Super Follows, selected users will be able to offer some exclusive benefits to their followers in exchange for a monthly fee. Twitter has currently offered three plans priced at $2.99 per month, $4.99 per month, and $9.99 per month. The announcement says the offering for each of the plans can be customized. The feature is similar to Patreon tiers where content creators are able to share different content types based on the tiered pricing.
Twitter says it will take only a 3% cut from the user's revenue generated through both the monetization features. This will be valid until the lifetime revenue reaches $50,000 (combined from both features) after which, it will take a 20% cut from the future earnings.
If you want to be a part of the early users' group, simply open the Twitter app and select the Monetization option from the sidebar. The next step is to select your preferred monetization feature and see if you are eligible. Once all eligibility criteria have been fulfilled, you can submit the application and wait until Twitter responds.
