HMD Global has announced the launch of its budget phone Nokia G20 in the United States. The phone made its debut in Europe earlier this year where it was unveiled alongside a bunch of other models. As you would expect, it comes with entry-level specifications and connectivity limited to 4G LTE.
The Nokia G20 sports a 6.5-inch HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels ) LCD display with a teardrop notch. Under the hood, it has the MediaTek Helio G35 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. There is a single 128GB onboard storage available with the phone. It offers microSD card support of up to 512GB for expanding storage space.
There is a quad-camera setup headlined by a 48-megapixel sensor on the back. The other three cameras include a 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 2-megapixel macro sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The whole package is powered by a 5,050mAh battery with a 10W charging speed. It will ship with Android 11 but the company has promised at least two major Android upgrades and three years of security support.
Other features include a USB Type-C port, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a dedicated Google Assistant button, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. As for pricing, the Nokia G20 will cost you $199 for the sole 4GB/128GB configuration. It will go on sale starting July 1st with an option to choose between Glacier and Night color options.
