It is believed that Pixel 5a has visited the FCC certification recently. There is no direct mentioning of the name of the phone but the spotted model numbers appear to be belonging to Google’s next affordable Pixel phone. These are model numbers G1F8F, GR0M2, and G4S1M with the latter two listed with the same FCC ID A4RG4S1M. The G1F8F model comes with FCCID A4RG1F8F. Al these models are said to be identical. They might just differ in terms of different network bands' support. One model is said to be CDMA for the US region where Verizon carrier operates.
The FCC listing has revealed nothing particular in terms of Pixel 5a features or specifications but this comes as a good hint that the launch is pretty imminent. Well, previous rumors have already said it to be the August launch. The exact launch date is still unknown.

A new report from a nearly always reliably tipster Mark Gurman has emerged that states Google will launch the Pixel 5a in August. Well, this isn’t something that wasn’t uttered before. In fact, Google itself confirmed back in April that the Pixel 5a will launch during the same timeframe when the last year’s “a-series” phone was introduced. For comparison, the Pixel 4a launched in August and immediately went on sale. This is what the report from Bloomberg mentions as well.
The report doesn’t offer any further details, but we have learned a few things in the past. Google clearly mentioned the Pixel 5a will be launched only in the US and Japan. This means the considerably cheaper Pixel phone is not coming to countries like India where the Pixel 3a and Pixel 4a phones were highly appreciated. The reason behind this is unknown but we are eager to know why Google has taken this decision.
So far, we have learned through a series of leaks that the Pixel 5a features a 6.2-inch FHD+ OLED display with probably a 90Hz refresh rate. It is said to get dual or triple cameras on the back. It will run Android 12 out of the box. It is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 765G processor, the same SoC that also powers the Pixel 5. It might receive 4GB/6GB RAM and up to 128GB storage.
In April, the camera specs accidentally revealed by Google, according to which the Pixel 5a is likely to feature a 12.2MP camera sensor with f/2.2 aperture. This is the same megapixel count as the current-gen Pixel 4a smartphone but the aperture count is now smaller. The blog post that Google published on its AI blog also revealed the phone will have support for the HDR+ with Bracketing feature.
