Xiaomi is said to have a new phone in the making that might feature a 200MP camera and the Snapdragon 895 processor. This is according to a report by Sparrow News citing a known Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station. The tipster has reportedly said that Xiaomi might bring this phone with the next-gen Snapdragon SM8450 SoC, which is believed to be called the Snapdragon 895.
Well, Xiaomi became the first OEM to bring out the first smartphone with the flagship Snapdragon 888 SoC in the market. It was Mi 11. So, it is believed that Xiaomi will repeat the same this year as well and might become the first manufacturer to make use of Snapdragon 895 SoC. The speculated phone that will carry this processor is said to be the Mi 12.
The report also mentions the supposed Xiaomi Mi 12 phone will feature a curved display with a single hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera.
Qualcomm hasn’t put out the details of the Snapdragon SM8450 yet but according to a tip that emerged earlier last month, the SM8450 is fabricated on a 4nm process. Evan Blass, a known tipster who in the industry for so long also revealed some key details of the SoC.

According to his tweet, the SM8450 has a Kryo 780 CPU built on ARM Cortex v9 technology. The system-on-chip gets Adreno 730 GPU and Spectra 680 ISP. It has Qualcomm secure processing unit (SPU260) and support for Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 subsystem. It will come with an integrated Snapdragon X65 5G modem and support for quad-channel LPDDR5 RAM.
Talking about the rumored 200MP sensor, it is said to use 16-in-1 pixel binning to output 12MP images with large pixels.
Xiaomi Mi 11 was launched back in December last year, so it is believed the successor will arrive during the same time frame this year.
