Realme confirms 5G phones below Rs. 10,000 in the works already

07 July 2021 0

Realme has promised to bring more and more 5G phones at affordable price tags in India in the near future. And, by “near future,” it means as soon as 2022.

Reportedly, in a webinar, Realme’s CEO Madhav Sheth has said the company is also working on bringing 5G phones in the sub-10K category. In a tweet, the company can also be seen pledging that all the phones launching above Rs. 15,000 will be 5G-powered. This shows Realme clearly wants to be a key driver in the adoption of 5G in India.

It should be noted that up until now, Realme has launched a list of 5G-powered phones. From launching its first phone X50 Pro 5G last year to now being one of the companies that are aggressively launching new 5G phones into the market. Realme is helping in accelerating the overall process.

But, what is worth noting that the adoption of 5G in India is actually happening at a slow pace. While India is gradually catching up with the trend, some factors are pulling 5G from becoming a full-fledged growth. So far, certain bands within the 5G spectrum have not even been identified. The government has, however, given a green signal to operators to start the 5G trials in India but this alone can’t push the overall process for so long. Experts believe India should develop some good plans for full 5G deployment.

So, far so many OEMs have launched their 5G phones in the market. But, not all have harvested the full potential of the chipsets that support all 5G bands. There are still many companies that have enabled only a couple of 5G bands in their phones. However, there are a few examples where the phones have seen supporting more and more 5G bands, for instance, Realme’s Narzo 30 Pro 5G. And, we believe, with a new motto in mind, Realme might not fail to impress its followers and can prove to be a great catalyst in accelerating this 5G adoption in the country.
