Qualcomm has launched its first smartphone called the "Smartphone for Snapdragon Insiders." The phone’s hardware has been crafted by Asus and the internals have been carefully chosen by Qualcomm itself. The phone features a curated collection of Snapdragon mobile platform experiences to stand out from the rest. And, yes, Qualcomm believes the set of all these features would justify the price of its first smartphone that is $1500.
As the long name would have implied already, this phone will cater to the Snapdragon Insiders community, however, this is not going to be exclusive to those 1.6M people. The phone will also reach others by August.
Lovingly addressing it with different names like “premium package” and “connectivity powerhouse,” Qualcomm introduces us to those Snapdragon mobile experiences that it has chosen for its first smartphone.
Qualcomm touts its phone can deliver an immersive, lag-free, and faster gaming experience.
There is something for audiophiles as well. The phone comes with dual stereo speakers that are paired with a smart AMP and "Snapdragon Sound." There are also quad HDR microphones with a 114dB dynamic range. The "Snapdragon Sound" aims to deliver 24-bit 96kHz music streaming along with ultra-low latency delivery.
The phone includes Qualcomm’s Spectra 580 image signal processor as well that enables 4K and 8K video recording and offers an AI-backed Zoom feature.
The phone gets Snapdragon 888 processor and is equipped with Snapdragon X60 5G modem with support for all key 5G sub-6 and mmWave bands and includes Qualcomm Signal Boost and Smart Transmit technologies for enhanced connectivity.
The phone also gets a back-mounted fingerprint scanner that is Qualcomm 3D Sonic Sensor Gen 2.
Interestingly, Qualcomm’s Smartphone for Snapdragon Insider also comes bundled with MW08SI TWS earbuds with support for 24-bit, 96kHz audio along with ultra-low latency streaming over Bluetooth. The earbuds are powered by Qualcomm QCC5141 and include Qualcomm Active Noise Cancellation as well as cVc echo cancellation and noise suppression technologies.
