It is about to be a year since Huawei sold the Honor smartphone business and made it an independent entity. Honor is busy making a mark for itself in the smartphone market since then. The biggest victory for the company was re-gaining support for Google apps and services which are considered essential for an Android device. It is now reported to be working on a foldable smartphone as it is the new exciting tech in the market.
A new leak from Weibo-based tipster Digital Chat Station claims that the Honor foldable smartphone will have an 8-inch primary display. It is the panel that is on the inside and you see when the device is unfolded completely. The secondary display is said to be 6.5-inch which is on the outside and is accessible even when the phone is folded.
The tip further mentions that Honor has teamed up with BOE for procuring display panels. BOE is a renowned Chinese smartphone manufacturer which supplies panels for a number of device makers including foldable devices. This is pretty much what is known about Honor's foldable device so far. A trademark application was also spotted recently where Honor mentioned names like Magic Fold and Magic Pad.
Honor is yet to comment anything officially on the situation yet. We will have to wait and see, especially the product design from the company. In other news, Honor is preparing for an event on August 12th where it is expected to unveil the Magic 3 smartphone.
