Apple Music Spatial Audio in-built speaker supported devices list updated

Apple Music's Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos and Lossless music support has started to appear for most users around the world. If you are not still seeing it, just be patient and it should appear anytime soon. One of the best things about Spatial Audio is that it can be enjoyed without needing slightly complicated hardware requirements, unlike Lossless audio.

Apple even released a list of devices that can offer Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos through in-built speakers. It featured a number of devices but since then, Apple has now updated the list removing some of the older-generation devices. The new list mentions that in-built speakers on an iPhone XS or higher but excluding iPhone SE, an iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd gen or higher), iPad Pro 11-inch, and iPad Air (4th gen or higher).

The previous list included the iPhone XR, iPad mini 5, iPad 6th gen, iPad 7th gen, and iPad 8th gen. It would certainly be disappointing news for those who own these devices and were looking forward to experiencing Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos. It is likely due to hardware limitations due to being quite old in terms of technical advancements age.

But those users can still enjoy Spatial Audio with the help of external audio accessories. Apple recommends AirPods, AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, BeatsX, Beats Solo3 Wireless, Beats Studio3, Powerbeats3 Wireless, Beats Flex, Powerbeats Pro, Beats Solo Pro, and Beats Studio Buds.
