In the past few months, Spotify has been more active than ever when it comes to rolling out new features. It is mainly focusing on keeping users hooked to the platform so that they spend as much time as possible. In the same direction, Spotify is introducing a new What's New feed section to keep users updated with artists and podcasts they follow.
If you are someone who follows multiple artists and podcasts on Spotify, you are likely to be aware that it can be hard to keep track of newly released content by your favorite creators. This is the reason that the team has come up with the feed-like section. It has added a new bell icon to the top right corner of the app's home page.
This feed gets updated in real-time so that users get updated about a new release as and when it becomes available. The bell icon will have a dot next to it that will notify users about new releases. This feature will cover both newly released music as well as podcast episodes. If you are looking for something in particular, there will also be filters to help you find it.
The rollout of Spotify What's New is going on for both Android and iOS devices. It should become available for you anytime soon if it is not already. It is important to note that you will need to follow artists and podcast creators to start getting notifications.
