Twitter Spaces update brings new ways to discover, share rooms

31 July 2021 0

Twitter has announced another update for Spaces that will make it using them a lot more convenient. One of the newly added features is coming to Android and the rest are currently exclusive to iOS devices. The main aim of the latest update is to make it easier to share and discover live audio rooms.

The first change is that Spaces now has an integrated tweet composer button. This will allow users to tweet about the audio room or about anything they want while still being inside the room. It should be noted it was possible to tweet while listening to the audio previously as well. This change simply integrates the tweet button within the room and a dedicated hashtag for the room will get inserted automatically. It is available for both Android and iOS users.

Those who have access to the dedicated Spaces tab beta release will now be able to search for rooms in a more efficient way. They can now use the title, hostname, or host's Twitter handles to look for ongoing and upcoming Spaces. This should make the whole process a lot faster and convenient.

The next new Spaces feature for iOS users is Guest Management. It will show you the total number of guests along with filters: All, Speakers, Requests, and Listening. It is meant to make it easier for the host to manage who are the speakers and who have requested to speak. The host can easily remove someone from the speaker's role and even remove users from the room altogether. There are also options for blocking and reporting users who are not behaving appropriately.
