Vivo's Y-series is quite a popular choice among budget buyers, especially in the Indian offline market. This seems to be the reason we are now seeing the launch of the third model within three months. The latest Vivo Y12G joins the already available Vivo Y12s (2021) and Vivo Y12A budget smartphones. The major difference is that the new offering comes with triple rear cameras as compared to dual sensors.
The Vivo Y12G sports a 6.51-inch HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels) LCD IPS display with a dew-drop notch. Under the hood, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. It has a single 32GB storage option with support for microSD cards. The latter is helpful in expanding the phone's storage if the native capacity gets full.
The vertically aligned triple-camera camera setup includes a 13-megapixel primary sensor and two 2-megapixel sensors. The front camera on the phone is an 8-megapixel sensor for taking selfies and attending video calls. The whole package is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 10W charging. The phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Vivo has priced the Vivo Y12A at INR 10,990 for the sole 3GB/32GB configuration. It is available in Glacier Blue and Phantom Black color options.
