Fairphone, a Dutch company that has been making some modular and sustainable smartphones is all set to launch its next product called the Fairphone 4 5G. Well, this became apparent from a listing spotted on Wi-Fi Alliance certification. The German tech site WinFuture spotted the listing first and MobileScout was able to cross-check it as well.
The listing clearly shows the name of the product that is Fairphone 4 5G. As the name has made this pretty evident, the phone supports 5G and the listing further reveals the phone supports dual frequency bands – 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Also, the phone will run Android 11. The listing does not include anything else about the device but given that the device has received the necessary certification, we believe we might hear more about it soon.
It’s been almost a year when the Dutch brand launched its last phone called the Fairphone 3+, which was sourced from 40% recycled plastics.
We have no other information on the Fairphone 4 5G at the moment, but we expect it to embrace the company’s ambitious vision fully. Fairphone believes materials play a crucial role in the making of any smartphone. They should be sourced from conflict-free zones so that they do not harm the end-users. Also, the phones should be sustainable enough so to be environmentally friendly.
Fairphone company has so far developed some amazing devices, including the Fairphone 2 phone that received a repairability score of 10/10 from iFixit. We expect the Fairphone 4 5G will bear the company’s mission.
