OnePlus is offering 100% off on battery replacement for some of its older phones in India. This is according to a Reddit post by a OnePlus 5T user who managed to avail this offer and got the phone’s battery replaced for free. Later, MobileScout was able to verify this as well but got to know the offer is not applicable if you walk into an authorized center. Users can only get this offer if they visit an exclusive store, which is, unfortunately, not located in every city.

As per the Reddit user, OnePlus 3, 3T, OnePlus 5, 5T, and OnePlus 6, 6T phones are eligible for this offer only. As per our investigation, you only have to pay nominal labor cost for the replacement, which is Rs. 478, rest there is no additional cost.

As per the Reddit user, this offer is, unfortunately, valid for walk-in service only and that too with the exclusive service centers. This means, if you book the service online, you may end up availing only a 50% discount on the total cost of the battery. But, according to the information we have received, the free battery replacement offer is even valid if you send your device to the store through the company's pick-up and drop-off service. The overall process, however, can take 3-4 days, depending upon the busy hours of any service center.

OnePlus is yet to officially announce details on this free battery replacement program.

It is, interesting to see OnePlus taking initiative in replacing the batteries of its older devices for free. It is believed that OnePlus might have a left-over stock of batteries of the aforementioned devices and it is thus replacing them for free.
