Clubhouse is a social media platform that focuses solely on audio as a way of communication. It is now taking the audio chat to next level with the help of spatial audio technology. The company wants to deliver an immersive and surround-sound experience so that users get a life-like feel.
The main purpose of Clubhouse spatial audio is to help users identify who is talking by simply listening to where the sound is coming from. This is mean to deliver an experience similar to how it happens when you are talking with a number of people in a real-life room. We look towards the direction where the sound is coming from.
The announcement reveals that spatial audio tech will work better with wired as well as wireless headphones. Due to Bluetooth limitations, it will not be applied when the user is speaking through wireless earphones. But the audio will have the spatial audio effect so that it can be heard by others.

It's like surround sound, but w/ your own headphones. A more vibrant, human experience! Plus makes it much easier to tell who's talking.
