Amazon Fire TV sticks are one of the commonly used ways of making one's TV smarter and streaming content directly on the big screen. The company has also worked with different TV makers to release smart TVs that offer a Fire TV experience out of the box with no additional hardware needed. A new report claims Amazon is now preparing to launch self-branded smart TVs in the United States.
As per a Business Insider report citing sources familiar with the plans, Amazon is very close to announcing self-branded smart TVs in the US. These TVs are said to be under development for the past couple of years. The development team includes talent from the likes of Amazon Devices and Lab126. The majority of the details are currently unknown but these TVs will be powered by Alexa and will arrive in different display sizes ranging between 55-inch and 75-inch.
It should be noted that these TVs will actually be manufactured by third parties and TCL is one of the partners. The only difference is that these products will launch featuring the Amazon branding. However, there is a separate TV model that Amazon is designing in-house but not much is known about the offering.
This is pretty much what has been revealed by the report for now. Other important details like the exact launch date and price range are currently missing. We can expect this information to become public as time will pass.
