Red Magic 6s Pro, a new gaming phone with some amusing features has gone official. No vanilla Red Magic 6s variant has joined the phone in the launch. But, the lineup already has two phones to fill the gap, these are the original Red Magic 6 and the Red Magic 6R that went official in March and May this year.
Coming to the new brawny Red Magic 6s Pro, this one gets a better cooling system, faster touch controls, and much more that you might like to have.
The Magic 6s Pro gets Snapdragon 888+ processor, which is slightly faster than the Snapdragon 888 SoC. It pushes the Cortex-X1 based prime core up to 2.995GHz, up from 2.84GHz on the original chipset. Red Magic developed ICE 7.0 cooling system to keep the chipset and hence the phone cool. For comparison, the Red Magic 6 Pro has ICE 6.0 cooling system and the latest one has Phase Change Materials (PCM). This system stores the heat as it is dissipated by the phone and releases it slowly afterward.
There is also an active cooling fan, which spins 20,000 rpm, just like the one on Red Magic 6 Pro.
It gets 6.8-inch AMOLED display with 1,080x 2,400 pixels resolution. The display supports DC dimming for flicker-free operation and is protected by Gorilla Glass. The panel has a 165Hz refresh rate. Red Magic is also making available a transparent back, but with a standard model only.
In the transparent back edition, the cooling fan will show four RGB LEDs for some extra style. This transparent variant is dubbed “Ghost.” Another available option comes in black, which skips the LEDs. Furthermore, the multi-finger touch sampling rate is 720Hz.
The Red Magic 6s Pro also carries two shoulder triggers that run at a 450Hz touch sampling rate and they have a response time of 2.2ms. There is also a new trigger located on the back of the phone. These shoulder buttons can be customized at your convenience.
One interesting addition to the Red Magic 6s Pro is that its under-display fingerprint scanner doubles as a heart rate monitor. The phone also gets a 3.5mm headphone jack for latency-free audio.
