07 September 2021 0

TCL has introduced a new budget smartphone TCL 20Y for South American and African markets. The phone comes with entry-level specifications and features. The main highlights of the phone include a triple rear camera setup and a big enough battery to keep users going for a day with ease.

The TCL 20Y sports a 6.52-inch HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels) LCD IPS display with a dew-drop notch. Under the hood, it has an octa-core MediaTek Helio A25 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. It has a single 64GB storage option with support for microSD cards up to 512GB. The latter is helpful in expanding the phone's storage if the native capacity gets full.

The vertically aligned triple-camera camera setup includes a 48-megapixel wide-angle sensor with f/1.8 aperture, a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The front camera on the phone is an 8-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture for taking selfies and attending video calls.

The whole package is powered by a 4,000mAh battery. The phone has a fingerprint scanner and a 3.5mm headphone jack. TCL has priced the TCL 20Y at GHS 900 (about $132) for the sole 4GB/64GB configuration in Ghana. It is available in Twilight Blue and Twilight Black color options.
