Tech enthusiasts and Apple fans around the world were yet to be done talking about Apple's September 14th event launch invite and AR-powered easter egg, Front Page Tech's Jon Prosser dropped a bombshell of a leak. He shared iPhone 14 details even though we all are still wondering what to expect from the iPhone 13 lineup next week.
Prosser has shared a bunch of high-quality iPhone 14 renders, well actually iPhone 14 Pro Max to be specific. He says that these renders are based on the prototype that he got to saw. As one can see, the alleged iPhone 14 looks quite a lot similar to modern iPhone models and also resembles the iPhone 4. But, there are two major design differences.
The first one is the front side where there is no notch anymore. The iPhone 14 leak shows a punch-hole display which has become a mainstream option for Android smartphones in the last couple of years. It is placed in the center and if you are wondering what happened to Face ID sensors, they are still there but are now under-display. Apple seems to have avoided using under-display selfie cameras because while they make a phone look futuristic, the end result of clicking selfies gets compromised significantly.
The second noticeable difference is on the back panel where the camera bump is gone. Apple has flushed rear camera sensors with the rest of the back panel that gives a unified body design feel. These two are the changes that many iPhone fans have been asking about ever since the release of the iPhone X. If the leak is correct, it is good to see Apple finally fixing the two things.
Soon after the leak was shared, a well-known display analyst Ross Young chimed in to share his thoughts on the developments. He tweeted that while he also expects under-display Face ID to land on iPhone next year, it is still getting developed and nothing is finalized yet.
I would say under panel Face ID isn't final yet. Still being worked on. It is easier than under panel cameras though.— Ross Young (@DSCCRoss) September 8, 2021
This makes sense considering where are a complete one year away from seeing iPhone 14 getting official. It is very early to believe any kind of leaks as a lot can change as the months will pass. Nevertheless, we will keep you posted on all new updates and leaks.
