If you own an iPad or you’re a techthusiast who has been closely following the mobile and applications world, you’d know that there is still no native Instagram app for the iPad. It is 2021, and we still do not know why the makers have not built any official support for the same. The reason remains unknown and the CEO has nothing different to say or anything that could make up for the absence.
Upon asking about the absenteeism of the Instagram app on Apple’s iPad, CEO Adam Mosseri said,
I spent a bit of a time on an iPad because I was on a flight, but still no iPad app for Instagram. It would be nice to do, but there’s a lot to do and only so many people, so it hasn’t made the cut.
As you’d notice, the statement lacks context and the reason for the unavailability of the app on the iPad remains unclear.
Last year as well, Mosseri gave the same reason, saying Instagram has "lots to do" and the company doesn't have enough resources to put its efforts into both - iPhone and iPad. So, this is one prime reason for the unavailability
So many users have been yearning for an official Instagram app support on their iPads but the makers still have no plans to bring it anytime soon.
Earlier this year Instagram even added the support that allowed users to post to the platform using the web. It was a great addition, but perhaps iPad couldn’t make the cut and there is still no clue on its availability in the near future.
Just to make a reference here, Facebook-owned another app called WhatsApp will soon bring the native app on the iPad. The makers haven’t made this official but a piece of evidence spotted last month made this apparent.
