HMD Global has announced a new mid-range 5G smartphone named Nokia G50. It is the same phone that leaked last month but has just gone official in the United Kingdom. Apart from the 5G connectivity, key features include a triple camera setup and a bigger battery to keep lights on throughout the day.
The Nokia G50 sports a 6.82-inch HD+ display with a dotted notch and 450 nits of typical brightness. Under the hood, it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 processor coupled with 4GB and 6GB of RAM. The onboard storage options include 64GB and 128GB along with support for microSD cards.
The triple rear camera setup features a 48-megapixel primary sensor, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth camera. The front camera is an 8-megapixel sensor housed within the notch. The whole package is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging. The phone will ship with Android 11. Other features include a USB Type-C port, NFC, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and Bluetooth 5.0.
The Nokia G50 has been priced at £199.99 for the 4GB/64GB variant. It is available in Midnight Sun and Ocean Blue color options with sales already live in the UK. There are no words on the global expansion of the smartphone.
