Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy F42 smartphone in India. The latest phone falls in the mid-range category with MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC. It gets triple cameras on the back and has a teardrop-style notch on the display.
The screen size on the Galaxy F42 5G phone is a 6.6-inch with full HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. But there is a significant amount of bezel on the bottom.
The Dimensity 700 SoC is built upon a 7nm manufacturing process and has an eight-core architecture with high-performance processors. It includes two fast ARM Cortex-A76 cores at up to 2.2GHz and six power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores at up to 2GHz. The processor is powered by up to 8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage.
The triple rear camera setup includes a 64MP primary sensor, along with a 5MP ultra-wide shooter and a 2MP depth sensor. The rear camera setup supports many modes, including Hyperlapse, Slow Motion, Night Mode, Panorama, and Pro Mode. For selfies and video chats, the Samsung Galaxy F42 5G gets an 8MP camera.
The Samsung Galaxy F42 5G runs on Android 11 with One UI 3.1 on the top. It houses a 5,000mAh battery that uses a 15W fast charger.
Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone comes in Matte Aqua as well as Matte Black color options.
The price of the Samsung Galaxy F42 5G is Rs. 20,999 for the base 6GB RAM variant, whereas the one with 8GB RAM costs Rs. 22,999. Both the variants have 128GB onboard storage. As a launch offer, the Galaxy F42 5G can be purchased at Rs. 17,999 (base model) and Rs. 18,999.
The Samsung Galaxy F42 5G will go on sale in India starting October 3 through Flipkart, Samsung Online Store, and select retail outlets in the country.
