Clubhouse, the popular social audio chat is receiving a few interesting features that the users have been longing for. These are Universal Search, Replays, and Clips, and all of them are true to their names.
First off, Clubhouse makers have rolled out a Universal search option that will allow you to search for just anything present on the platform. For instance, you can search for people, clubs, live rooms, and even future events. This way you will be able to find clubs quickly and also search for rooms about specific things happening in the world and be a part of them as well.
Universal Search is rolling out on iOS and Android starting today. The Clubhouse makes this clear that for the first week or two this new search will stay in the Explore tab. This is to get feedback from the community and once the company sees a positive response it will roll the feature out in the hallway.

Another interesting feature is Clips and as the name is pretty suggestive, the feature will let anyone extract a 30-second clip of public rooms and share it with everyone. Needless to say, you can only get the 30-seconds clip of any open/public room if the admin has allowed it already. When admins start a room, they can choose whether they want clips enabled. So, if you see the clips icon enabled in any room, this means they have allowed anyone listening in the room to extract the short 30-second audio.
By default, this feature is switched on for open/public rooms. So, anyone creating a room will see this feature enabled already. Admins can toggle the feature off. Once this feature is enabled, listeners will see a new icon that they can tap anytime to grab a clip of the past 30-seconds video. People can then share it on Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, or iMessage. They can also save them in their camera rolls for quick editing first.
The Clips feature is currently rolling out in beta. This means it will be available to a small group of creators starting today.
One more feature is Replays. The feature will allow the listeners to replay any live room that was held in the past. This will be helpful in case you couldn’t attend a live session but wants to know what the room discussed.
Creators can choose to record their rooms and allow them to replay sometime in the future for the listeners who couldn’t join or anyone who would search for rooms with similar topics. Clubhouse says if the Replays are on, the room will be discoverable on Clubhouse for as long as the creator wants.
Also, the Spatial Audio feature that was first made available to iOS users is now making its way to Android.
