After launching the Oppo A55 5G earlier this year, Oppo has now introduced the Oppo A56 5G in China. The name suggests that it might be the successor but is actually a slightly different variant. The biggest difference is that the new model has dual rear cameras as compared to triple cameras. There are also new color options for buyers to consider.
The Oppo A56 5G sports a 6.5-inch HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels) display with a dew-drop notch. The panel offers the standard 60Hz refresh rate with 480 nits of peak brightness and 269ppi pixel density. Under the hood, it has the MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G processor coupled with 6GB of RAM. The phone has 128GB of onboard storage with microSD card support.
There is a dual-camera module featuring a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The front camera on the phone is an 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and housed within the punch-hole. The whole package is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging speeds. It will run ColorOS 11.1 based on Android 11 out of the box. Other noteworthy features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C port, Bluetooth v5, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The Oppo A56 5G is priced at CNY 1,599 (about $250) for the sole 6GB/128GB configuration. The color options include Soft Fog Black, Wind Chine Purple, and Cloud Smoke Blue.
