It was during April 2021 when ZTE took wraps off the Axon 30 Ultra in China. It is an Android flagship that boasts up to 16GB RAM which makes it the phone with the highest RAM in the world. While you might be wondering what you would do with so much RAM on a mobile phone, ZTE is ready to take that number up a notch.
ZTE has teased a new Axon 30 Ultra Space Edition smartphone on Weibo. This special edition looks like the standard model but has "18G/1TB Limited Edition" written on the camera module. It means the variant will debut with a whopping 18GB of RAM available with 1TB of onboard storage. The Limited Edition seems to refer to the limited number of quantities the smartphone will be sold in.
It is important to note that while the ZTE Axon 30 5G also offers up to 20GB of RAM, all of that is not physical RAM. The phone has 12GB of physical RAM and the remaining 8GB is virtual RAM. It means that additional RAM is actually the onboard storage that is utilized for handling tasks meant for RAM.
Other than the 18GB RAM/1TB configuration, the Axon 30 Ultra Space Edition is expected to be the same as the standard edition. It will be announced on November 25th i.e. next week. We will have more to talk about the phone once it gets official.
