It is a new day and we have a new Vivo Y-series budget smartphone to talk about. The Vivo Y54s has been announced in China and is aimed at buyers who are tight on budget. The main highlight of the phone is that it supports 5G connectivity. It is one of the affordable 5G smartphones that can be purchased in China.
The Vivo Y54s sports a 6.51-inch Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) display with a standard 60Hz refresh rate and a dotted notch. Under the hood, it is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor. There is a single 6GB of RAM option along with 128GB of onboard storage. It also has microSD card support for storage expansion purposes.
The dual rear camera setup includes a 13-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The selfie camera on the phone is an 8-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture. There is a 5,000mAh battery to keep the lights on and is supported by 18W fast charging. The phone also has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It will ship with Origin OS 1.0 based on Android 11 but there is no USB Type-C port here.
As for the pricing, the Vivo Y54s will cost CNY 1,699 (about $220) for the sole 8GB/128GB model. It is already available for purchase and it will be sold in Lake Blue and Titanium Grey color options.
