Motorola has officially debuted its new mid-range smartphone Moto G Power (2022) in the United States. It is a direct successor to Moto G Power (2021) launched earlier this year. There are a few improvements in the new model that make it worth the consideration. As the name suggests, the phone's unique selling point is its long-lasting battery life.
The Moto G Power (2022) sports a 6.5-inch HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels) IPS TFT LCD Max Vision display with a 90Hz refresh rate. There is a centered punch-hole that helps it achieve an 86.45% screen-to-body ratio and 20:9 aspect ratio. The phone is packed with a MediaTek Helio G37 processor and coupled with 4GB of RAM. There is 64GB onboard storage with microSD card support up to 512GB.
The phone has a vertically-aligned triple rear camera setup headlined by a 50-megapixel primary Quad Pixel sensor with f/1.8 aperture. The other two cameras on the phone include a 2-megapixel macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The front camera is an 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture.
There is a 5,000mAh battery with 10W fast charging support. Motorola has claimed battery life of up to 3 days on a single charge and can also be used for listening to music for 110 hours, watching videos for 18 hours, and browsing social media for 17 hours. The phone will boot Android 11 out of the box. Other features include a USB Type-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack, fingerprint scanner, and IP52 water resistance certification.
Motorola has priced the Moto G Power (2022) at $199.99 for the sole 4GB/64GB model. It will be sold via Republic Wireless and T-Mobile in the coming months. It will eventually be expanded to Verizon, Boost Mobile, Xfinity Mobile, AT&T, Cricket, Uscellular, and Google Fi. The unlocked model of the phone will be available through Amazon, Best Buy, and Motorola's website starting early 2022.
