WhatsApp for web and desktop now offer support for custom stickers creation. The announcement was made by WhatsApp to give users a personalized way of expressing themselves. It is well known that stickers are one of the commonly used ways of adding emotions and feelings to simple texts. These stickers are usually inspired by movies/TV shows or memes but now, you can use your photos to add a personal touch.

If you are wondering how you can create custom WhatsApp stickers on web or desktop, the good news is that the whole process very easy to follow. The first step is obviously to make sure that you are running the latest version of WhatsApp web or desktop (depending on what you use). The next step is to log in using the same account for which you want to create custom stickers.

Open the WhatsApp chat (works for both individuals and groups) you want to send the sticker. Click the file attachment option i.e. paperclip icon in the bottom left corner of the chat window. Choose Sticker from the list of options and it will open a dialog box from where you can select an image. The chosen image will be opened by WhatsApp along with a sticker maker interface.

The interface is mainly like an image editor where you get options to add text, emojis, and even existing stickers. You can also crop the image but this is supported only in square aspect ratio. If you want to get rid of the background in the image, it can be done by drawing a line around the subject you want to keep. Once you are happy with your custom sticker, simply click on the Send button to share it in the chat.

It should be noted that third-party apps have offered the ability to create custom WhatsApp stickers for a long time. It is the first time WhatsApp is offering the same natively which should eliminate the need for installing an extra app. However, it is unknown when we can expect to see it become available on Android and iOS devices.
