Realme GT 2 Pro render leak shows Nexus 6P-like design

30 November 2021 0

It was a couple of weeks ago when we first heard about Realme's plans to enter the sub-$800 price segment. It has now officially confirmed that the first premium phone will be called Realme GT 2 Pro. The name was confirmed by none other than Sky Li, CEO and co-founder of Realme, in a tweet.

Li said, "GT 2 Pro - that’s how we are going to name our first and most premium flagship phone. Always feel great to deliver something new and exciting to users worldwide." The phone will essentially be a direct successor to the Realme GT 5G launched earlier this year. It is set to be the most expensive smartphone released by the company yet.

In a separate report from 91Mobiles in collaboration with tipster @OnLeaks, we got our first look at the Realme GT 2 Pro through a leaked render. The phone is shown with a completely overhauled redesign when compared to other Realme GT-series phones. The back panel has a camera visor that exactly resembles the one we saw in the Nexus 6P. It features three camera sensors and dual-LED flashes.

It is claimed that Realme has opted for dual 50-megapixel sensors where one is an ultra-wide-angle sensor. The third camera on the phone is an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor. The choice of processor is said to be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, Qualcomm's upcoming next-gen flagship processor for premium phones. There is a 6.8-inch WQHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate but no curved edges.

The report adds that the Realme GT 2 Pro will be priced at $799 for the base model. It means the phone will compete against some of the best devices of 2022. We are yet to hear details about the launch date but we will keep you posted.

The Realme GT 2 Pro isn't still available. To be notified when it becomse available click here.
