iPhone SE 3 5G launch on track for Q1 2022 | Report

01 December 2021 0

The much-awaited iPhone SE (2020) successor is widely rumored to go official next year. A new TrendForce market report has corroborated those claims. It mentions that the alleged iPhone SE 3 with 5G connectivity is on track for the first quarter of the 2022 launch. This means we are just a few months away from the official unveiling of the new entry-level iPhone.

The report says that Apple has decided to keep going with Q1 2022 launch plan for the iPhone SE 3. It will be the first model in the SE lineup to feature 5G connectivity. Apple is said to be considering shipping 25 million to 30 million units of the phone. These are good numbers and suggest that the Cupertino tech giant is hoping for good demand once it goes on sale.

The iPhone SE lineup is primarily meant to deliver some of the best iPhone features on a budget and in a compact size. The next-gen model is said to be powered by the same Apple A15 Bionic chipset that we see on the iPhone 13 series. However, it will not have a notch design and will instead continue with the iPhone 8 design. It means you will get those thick bezels and Touch ID biometric authentication instead of Face ID.

It is further reported that Apple has plans to launch four new models in a separate lineup. It is currently scheduled to be official during the second half of 2022. While TrendForce does not mention any names, it is not hard to guess that the lineup in question here is the iPhone 14 family. The rumored four models will likely be called iPhone 14, iPhone 14 mini, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The report did not give any details about what new features or changes we can expect.
