Honor has taken wraps off its newest premium mid-range smartphones: Honor 60 and Honor 60 Pro. The two phones do share a lot of features and specs but there are a few enhancements that make Pro better and expensive. The product design is quite similar to what we saw with the Honor 50 series earlier this year. The main attraction here is that some of the features are meant for vloggers to help them shoot vlogs with ease.
The Honor 60 Pro sports a 6.78-inch Full HD+ (2652 x 1200 pixels) OLED display with DCI-P3 color gamut support and up to 120Hz refresh rate. It is the world's first smartphone to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ processor and Adreno 642L GPU. The phone is available with 8GB and 12GB RAM options but both come with the same 256GB onboard storage.
In the camera department, a triple-camera setup is there featuring a 108-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.9 aperture. The other two cameras include a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The front camera on the phone is a 50-megapixel sensor with f/2.4 aperture.
The phone is capable of shooting 4K videos through both rear and front cameras. There is support for a total of five hand gestures to help bloggers quickly perform certain tasks. These gestures can be used for switching between cameras, enabling picture-in-picture mode, starting video recording, and end video recording.
The whole package is powered by a 4,800mAh battery with support for 66W fast charging. The connectivity options include a USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and WiFi 6. The phone has an in-display fingerprint scanner and it will ship with Magic UI 5 based on Android 11.
The Honor 60 Pro is priced at CNY 3,699 (about $580) for the base 8GB/256GB model and at CNY 3,999 (about $628) for the 12GB/256GB model. It is already available for pre-orders in China with sales beginning December 10th.
The Honor 60 has a relatively smaller 6.67-inch display with the same specs as the Pro variant. It comes loaded with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor with multiple configurations featuring up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB onboard storage. The phone has the same triple camera setup as the Pro model but with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor.
There is a 32-megapixel front camera and it offers all those vlogger-focused hand gestures as well. All other specs and features on this phone are unchanged from the Honor 60 Pro.
