Apple's 2022 product lineup: AR headset, iPad Pro redesign, new Mac Pro

06 December 2021 0

Apple is expected to announce a lot more interesting and wide range of products next year as compared to 2021. This is what has been claimed by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg in his Power On newsletter's latest edition. He has referred to 2021 as a "modest year" in terms of launches for the company and talked about Apple's 2022 product lineup in detail.

The biggest attraction in the lineup is undoubtedly Apple's first augmented reality headset. We keep hearing about the device in rumors every now and then. It is widely rumored for a 2022 release and Gurman has corroborated the same once again. He adds that the AR headset will have multiple processors, high-res displays, its own App Store, and a cooling system. Apple is said to be focusing primarily on gaming with the device but it will be capable of supporting media consumption and communication tasks.

The iPad Pro lineup is said to undergo a complete design overhaul next year. It will have a glass back and support for wireless charging. It is even expected to have reverse wireless charging so that the new iPad Pro's hefty battery capacity can be used to charge other devices. We have also heard reports of Apple expanding the mini-LED display to the 11.9-inch iPad Pro as well.

Other products in the 2022 lineup include the much-awaited iPhone SE 3 with 5G connectivity. There will be the new iPhone 14 lineup and Apple Watch Series 8. In terms of laptops and desktops, Apple is reported to launch a redesigned MacBook Air along with new MacBook Pro, Mac Pro, and Mac mini models. There is also tipped to a new iMac with the new Apple chip in the pipeline.
