UPDATE (December 10th, 2021):
Samsung has reportedly suspended Android 12 stable update rollout for Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. The decision has been taken after a few users complained about running into various performance issues post-installation. These issues include some apps not working, Dark mode not functioning, screen flickering, and Dual Messenger not working. To make things worse, few users have even shared instances of their phones entering the recovery mode.
We will keep you posted as and when the update release will resume.
Original (December 6th, 2021)
Samsung has started rolling the stable Android 12 update for Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 users. It began beta testing the latest Android version for the newest foldables last month. It seems like the team has been satisfied with the build and has decided to roll it out for all users around the globe.
As per SamMobile, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 Android 12 update is limited to South Korea and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 Android 12 update is available only in Siberia. This is for the time being but is expected to expand to other regions sooner than later. The build number for the Galaxy Z Flip 3 firmware is F711BXXU2BUKM but the same is unknown for the premium Fold 3. It also brings the latest December 2021 security patch to the foldables.
Both of these updates come layered with One UI 4.0, the latest iteration of Samsung's custom Android skin. It brings a number of important features like Material You Color Palette, Privacy Dashboard, new widget designs, improved widget picker, and better privacy and security features.
If you own any of these two foldables, you can check for the update by visiting system settings. It is advised that you stay patient if the update does not appear for you right away. Once it is available and downloaded, simply ensure that you have at least 50% battery on the device before hitting that install button.
