10 December 2021 0

Motorola has taken wraps off a new premium smartphone named Edge S30. The phone has been unveiled in China alongside the Edge X30, the world's first Snap 8 Gen 1 smartphone. The new phone comes loaded with Snapdragon 888+ which is technically a last-gen chipset but is only a few months old.

The Motorola Edge S30 sports a 6.8-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with up to 144Hz refresh rate. The panel has a centered punch-hole that houses a 16-megapixel selfie camera. The phone is available in two configurations: 6GB of RAM with 128GB storage and 12GB of RAM with 256GB storage. Both variants are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ chipset.

On the back, you will see a triple camera module headlined by a 108-megapixel sensor. The other two cameras include a 13-megapixel wide-angle sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. There is a 5,000mAh battery to keep the lights on. It is supported by 33W fast charging to help you refuel the battery quickly. The phone will ship with Android 11 but should get the Android 12 upgrade sooner than later.

Motorola has priced the Edge S30 at CNY 1,999 (about $313) and CNY 2,599 (about $407) for 6GB/128GB and 12GB/256GB variants respectively. It will go on sale starting December 21st in China.
