Huawei confirms P50 Pocket launch for December 23

15 December 2021 1

Huawei is one of those well-established smartphone brands that have found some success in foldables. It launched its current-gen foldable i.e. Mate X2 5G earlier this year and is now ready to announce a new one. The upcoming foldable is officially called Huawei P50 Pocket and will go official on December 23rd.

The launch event will take place in China and most likely, the P50 Pocket will remain exclusive to the Chinese market. The phone is expected to have a vertical folding mechanism similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Moto Razr. In other words, it will have a folding mechanism similar to a clamshell flip phone.

However, we do not know much about this new foldable. Huawei's launch event poster is referring to the device as Winter Flagship suggesting it will have high-end specs and features. There are speculations that it is the same phone which was previously rumored to launch as the Mate V. The poster also gives a hint that it may arrive in White and Gold color options.

The name of the phone makes it clear that it will be the newest member of the Huawei P50 family. It currently has two phones i.e. Huawei P50 and P50 Pro. These phones have a unique camera module design and we may see the same make an appearance on the foldable. There are no details related to specifications but as the launch is just a week away, we will not have to wait for long.

The Huawei P50 Pocket isn't still available. To be notified when it becomse available click here.
