Instagram is receiving three new features that will change th way you are used to using the app. These include the ability to embed one's profile on websites, reply to comments as Reels, and Instagram Playback. The rollout has already begun in a phased manner and may take some time before it lands on your particular device.
Adam Mosseri, Head of Instagram, announced in a tweet that it is now possible for users to embed Instagram profiles on websites like blogs and portfolios. It is an extension of the existing functionality that lets anyone embed an Instagram post. This new feature is currently limited to users living in the United States. It also goes without saying that it should be a public profile and only then its content will be visible to website visitors.
The second feature is called Reels Visual Replies which lets users reply to comments as Reels. A user can choose to shoot a video of up to 60 seconds and send it as a reply to the comment. Reel replies will appear as stickers below the comment. The idea behind the feature is to give creators and influencers another way to engage with their followers.
Instagram Playback is the last feature that Mosseri talked about in his latest video. It offers a recap of your 10 favorite Stories that you shared during 2021. It is available for users who have posted at least three stories this year or have Stories Archive turned on in the settings.
