Samsung Galaxy foldables are selling more than expected

30 December 2021 0

Samsung is probably the most experienced foldable smartphone maker in the market. It has been doing it consistently since 2019 and most recently, it launched third-generation models Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. Both these phones proved to be an instant hit right from the launch and as per new details, they are selling more and more.

As per the company's data, it ended up selling more of the latest foldable units than it sold for all foldables combined in the whole of 2020. This is undoubtedly a huge growth considering foldables are still on the expensive side. It further reveals that the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is seeing the majority of the demand which is not surprising. It is a compact foldable that is easier to carry around and also costs relatively cheaper than the Fold 3.

Another interesting piece of data shared by Samsung is that the foldables have proved to be way better at convincing other brand users to make a switch. It says that the Galaxy Z Flip 3 convinced a whopping 150% more buyers to go for Samsung as compared to the Galaxy Note 20. These figures take a modest drop of 10% in comparison to the Galaxy S21 which means 140% of users made a jump to the Z Flip 3.

Samsung says all the technological innovations that it brought to the current-gen foldables helped it attract more customers. For example, these are the first foldables to come with an IPX8 rating for water resistance. It also added S Pen support to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 which made it a good alternative to Galaxy Note lovers.
