OnePlus' idea of building buzz around its new flagships is to tease specific features one at a time. It started off by sharing official renders and revealed key specifications. It has now shared official OnePlus 10 Pro camera samples and features to give users an idea of its camera performance.
The OnePlus 10 Pro will be the second flagship from the company to make use of Hasselblad collaboration. The biggest difference between this year's and previous generation devices' camera performances is the ability to shoot in 10-bit color. It will basically allow the camera to capture more colors than before and OnePlus is officially calling this OnePlus Billion Color Solution. The good thing is that 10-bit color capture is available for all camera sensors and is not restricted to the main one.
The Hasselblad Pro Mode has also received improvements for the new generation. It is now capable of shooting in 12-bit RAW format which means photos can now have up to 68 billion colors. These shots should have a better dynamic range as well. It will also have RAW+ mode that will capture shots in both processed JPEG and unprocessed RAW formats at the same time.
The ultra-wide camera on the OnePlus 10 Pro will be able to shoot photos with a 150-degree field of view. This makes it one of the widest camera sensors on a smartphone. It also features a Fisheye Mode to give you photos that look like they have been clicked using fisheye cameras. Another interesting mode is Movie Mode that will allow users to adjust video recording settings like ISO and shutter speed. These adjustments can be made either before or during the video capture.
In terms of camera specs, the OnePlus 10 Pro is officially confirmed to feature a 48-megapixel, a 50-megapixel, and an 8-megapixel sensor on the back panel. This is the same as the OnePlus 9 Pro but will offer improved results and new features mentioned above. The flagship will make its debut on January 11th at an event in China.
