Apple's first hardware launch event of the new year is reported to take place in March or April. The report is based on details shared by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg via his weekly newsletter Power On's latest edition. The exact details about announcements are unknown but he believes we will at least get to see the new iPhone SE.
The expected launch event will be Apple's Spring event that has become an annual affair in the past few years. It is the same event where the current-gen iPhone SE was released in 2020. The budget iPhone is now about to be two years old and in a tech world where new variants are released each year, a successor is rightly overdue for a long time.
Gurman has further corroborated many of the previous iPhone SE 3 rumors about what to expect from the device. The third-gen iPhone SE is speculated to continue with the same design as the current offering. It means we will get to see the thick bezel design that Apple originally debuted with the iPhone 8. However, there will be differences between the two devices in terms of internal components and overall performance.
The iPhone SE 3 or iPhone SE (2022) or whatever Apple decides to call it is widely reported to have a new processor and 5G connectivity support. It will be the first iPhone SE lineup device to be 5G compatible. We can also expect the phone to deliver improved camera performance and boot iOS 15 out of the box.
