Telegram 8.5 adds video stickers, better reactions, and more

01 February 2022 0

Telegram is undoubtedly one of the most feature-rich instant messaging applications out there. It is already way ahead of many of its competitors in terms of what you can do and now, we have another major update that adds even more new features. These include the likes of video stickers, better reactions, interactive emoji, and improved navigation.

Stickers are a commonly used method among users when it comes to being expressive while conversing. Telegram offers a vast collection of animated stickers to choose from along with support for custom creation. However, this creating part is something not everyone can do. This is what Telegram is hoping to change by introducing Video Stickers which are easier to create. These stickers are converted from videos and can be done using any video editing tool. There is an official manual that details the whole video sticker creation process.

The team is further making Reactions better as their animations are now more compact. If someone wants to see these animations in their original larger form, it can be done by pressing and holding a particular reaction. There are now five new Reactions that can also be sent as interactive emojis. One can also tap on a single emoji in a chat to send a synchronized effect across the private chat.

Some improvements have been made to navigating recent chats as well. Users can now tap and hold the Back option to return to a particular chat. One can also open chats directly from forwarded messages, links, usernames, and profiles. All of these features and changes are available with the Telegram 8.4 update. It has been rolled out for both Android and iOS devices.
