Apple's annual spring event appears to be closer than what we anticipated. Mark Gurman has claimed in his weekly newsletter Power On's latest edition that we may see the next Apple launch event on March 8th. He adds that while the date is not set in stone yet, it is confirmed to be a virtual event due to the pandemic situation.
The star of the show will be the iPhone SE 3 5G and a new iPad Air model. The new iPhone SE model will be a successor to the iPhone SE (2020) and the first one in the lineup to feature 5G connectivity. It will be powered by Apple's A15 Bionic chipset that also powers the new iPhone 13 lineup. In terms of outer appearance, the upcoming variant is reported to have the same design as the predecessor which means no Face ID.
As for the iPad, it will supposedly be called iPad Air 5 as it will succeed the current-gen iPad Air 4. Under the hood, it will have the A15 Bionic chip and will also offer 5G connectivity. It is expected to sport a 10.9-inch display and probably some camera performance improvements as well.
The launch event is now supposedly just a few weeks away. We should hear more information as we will get closer to the actual launch event date. It is important that you take the rumored launch date with a pinch of salt as things can always change.
