Oppo has officially announced a three-year partnership with Hasselblad to improve the camera performance of its flagship Find X series devices. The announcement came through a press release and is similar to what OnePlus and Hasselblad already have in place. It is more like an extension of the merger deal between OnePlus and Oppo where the two companies agreed to share technology and resources with each other.
Oppo's Find X series has always focused on delivering the best it can offer in all aspects. Smartphone photography is one such aspect and the company is looking to make that even better. It says that with the help of Hasselblad, they will further develop advanced imaging solutions through R&D collaboration. It will also be utilizing Hasselblad's Natural Color Calibration for delivering natural skin tones to portrait photography as much as possible.
The deal announcement is not exactly a surprise as we did get hints in recent rumors. The upcoming Find X5 Pro, Find X5, and Find X5 Lite leaks showed renders of phones with Hasselblad branding on the back. It is now safe to assume that the Find X5 series will be the first offering to launch featuring benefits of the collaboration.
Pete Lau, Chief Product Officer at Oppo said,
"Following the success of OnePlus and Hasselblad’s collaboration in the past year, we are very pleased to see the partnership enter a new stage of development, giving more users around the world a chance to enjoy the legendary Hasselblad mobile imaging experience. Camera color performance has always been a focus for OPPO and a part of Hasselblad’s DNA. We are very excited to be able to explore the future of Hasselblad Camera for Mobile together.”
