Nothing is a UK-based tech brand started by none other than Carl Pei who previously co-founded OnePlus. It has been more than six months since it launched its first product i.e. Nothing ear (1) truly wireless earbuds. Pei has always been clear about his vision for the company and it includes expanding into various tech categories. The next step for the company is to release a smartphone which can now happen as early as this month.
The official Twitter account of the company has tweeted, "March is going to be fun". This does not reveal anything but seems to be a hint at the smartphone launch. A separate TechCrunch report cites a source to claim that Nothing has been working on a smartphone for over a year and is considering announcing the same by next month.

It further adds Pei was event present at the MWC 2022 event in Barcelona to show off the device's prototype to several key executives of the industry. One reason to believe this is a photo shared by Enrico Salvatori, SVP and President, EMEA at Qualcomm EU. The photo in question shows him standing alongside Pei and the tweet says, "Looking forward to working together".
As we have seen how Nothing approached the release of its earbuds, the company is being secretive about the smartphone as well. It has not shared anything substantial except for a few teasers once in a while. For example, Pei recently tweeted that he is back on Android and that Android 12 was great. His tweet received a reply from Android's official account that said, "We've got a lot to catch up on Carl".

The first Nothing smartphone is reported to share the design language with the company's earbuds. It will be featuring transparent components that will surely make it stand apart. We do not have information about what could be possible specifications and at what price point it will be launched.
