Alleged blurry image shows Carl Pei holding Nothing phone

08 March 2022 0

We know that Carl Pei's tech startup Nothing is close to announcing its first smartphone. While what we know about this upcoming product is close to nothing, a fresh leak has surfaced online. Evan Blass aka @evleaks, a well-known tipster, has shared a photo that claims to give us our first look at the Nothing phone.

In the leaked image, we can see Nothing's CEO, Carl Pei, holding a device that looks like a phone and showing it to Cristiano Amon who is CEO of Qualcomm. The spy photo seems to have been clicked during MWC 2022 as it is where Pei was reported to have shown a prototype of the phone to various key executives.

Since the image is quite unclear, it is hard to know what is going on but we can surely make out a few things. The device is Black in color and has a couple of stickers on the back panel. This is a common occurrence with prototypes and devices part of the early testing phase. These stickers are primarily applied to keep the true identity of the device a secret.

There have been speculations that the first Nothing phone will be a flagship offering. It is expected to be Qualcomm's Snap 8 Gen 1 processor as it is the choice for all new Android flagships this year.
