Huawei has debuted a new smartphone named Huawei P50E in China. It is the third member of the P50 lineup that already includes Huawei P50 and Huawei P50 Pro. There is also a P50 Pocket in the market but it is a foldable smartphone. The latest offering features mid-range specifications and features.
The Huawei P50E sports a 6.5-inch Full HD+ (2700 x 1224 pixels) OLED punch-hole display with a 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor coupled with 8GB of RAM. The storage options include 128GB and 256GB along with microSD card support up to 256GB.
The phone has a triple rear camera setup headlined by a 50-megapixel sensor with f/1.8 aperture. The other two cameras include a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 12-megapixel telephoto sensor with f/3.4 aperture. The third sensor also has up to 5x zoom support. The front camera is a 13-megapixel sensor with f/2.4 aperture.
The whole package is powered by a 4,100mAh battery with 66W fast charging. The phone will boot HarmonyOS 2.0 out of the box as the software experience. Other features include an in-display fingerprint scanner, IP68 rating, Bluetooth 5.2, USB Type-C port, NFC, and WiFi 6.
Huawei has priced the Huawei P50E at CNY 4,088 (about $644) for the 8GB/128GB model and at CNY 4,488 (about $707) for the 8GB/256GB model. The phone will be sold in Cocoa Gold, Snow White, Obsidian Black, and Galaxy Blue.
