iQOO has unveiled a new budget smartphone named iQOO U5x in China. It joins the iQOO U5 5G that went official last year. The major difference between the two phones is that the newest one does not offer 5G connectivity. This is also the reason it costs a lot cheaper than the U5 smartphone.
The iQOO U5 5G sports a 6.5-inch HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels) LCD display with a dotted notch. There is no high refresh rate support as we have seen on many other phones. Under the hood, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor coupled with 4GB and 8GB of RAM. Both configuration variants have the same 128GB onboard storage with support for microSD cards.
There is a dual rear camera setup featuring a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. The front camera on the phone is an 8-megapixel sensor. There is a 5,000mAh battery supported by 10W fast charging. It will boot OriginOS based on Android 11 out of the box. Other features include a fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C port.
The iQOO U5x is priced at CNY 899 (about $141) for 4GB/128GB and CNY 1,099 (about $172) for the 8GB/128GB model. The color options include Star Black and Polar Blue.
