WhatsApp has announced a bunch of new features that will make the voice message experience even better. These feature different aspects of sending or listening to a voice message. The announcement was made via an official blog post where the company detailed everything new.
The first new WhatsApp voice message feature is all about the freedom of listening to the message even when you are outside of the chat. It means users can now read other messages and even respond to them while the voice message keeps playing in the background. It essentially improves the multitasking experience on the app.
It is now possible to pause while recording a voice message. This is a lifesaver as it can happen quite often that you find yourself getting interrupted in the middle. Or maybe you want to take a moment to decide what you should say next and how. You can listen to the preview of the message before sending it away.
As for received voice messages, WhatsApp has now added waveform visualization to help follow the recording. If you happen to pause a voice message, the app will remember the position and resume it without you having to listen from the start. The playback speed adjustment (1.5x or 2x) is now available for both regular and forwarded voice messages.
WhatsApp says it has begun rolling out all of the changes to all users. It is a gradual rollout and it may take a few weeks until they become available to everyone around the world. We would suggest you keep an eye on any WhatsApp update you get and install the same as soon as possible.
