Android fans have a number of options to choose from when it comes to foldables but in comparison, Apple and iOS fans are still waiting for the first release. The rumors of Apple's interest in foldables have been surfacing for years but nothing has materialized into a real-world product so far. It is now time for new leaks and reports offering details about what to expect in the future.
Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-known market research analyst, has tweeted that Apple is actively testing a 9-inch foldable device with an OLED panel. The pixel density i.e. PPI of this device is said to be somewhere between that of an iPhone and iPad. It is claimed to be a testing device for Apple to verify its key technologies meant for foldables. He says it is not confirmed that this device's features and specs will be a part of the final product.
He further reveals that the prioritization order for Apple is medium, large, and small devices. This is in the context of display sizes which means the foldable iPhone will be the last one to get unveiled. In fact, Kuo is not expecting the foldable iPhone to get official before 2025. He also says this particular device could either be a foldable iPad or a hybrid of iPhone and iPad.

A separate from The Elec claims that Apple and LG are collaborating to work on foldable OLED panels. These panels are said to be meant for tablets and notebooks with ultra-thin glass as the cover window instead of polyimide. The same report claims that LG Display is set to supply 17-inch 4K foldable OLED panels to HP for notebooks. It adds that the panel will be 11-inch when folded which would make the device equivalent to a large-screen tablet.
