Google's Switch to Android app for iOS silently listed on App Store

14 April 2022 0

Google and Apple are two of the biggest names in the smartphone space, primarily due to their operating systems Android and iOS respectively. They also keep coming up with ways to attract users from the other side. With this same goal, Google has silently released a new Switch to Android app for all iOS users.

As the name suggests, Switch to Android is an app meant to facilitate data transfer from iOS to Android. The good thing is that the app works wirelessly and one does not need to look for cables. It is claimed to make the whole process of moving to Android a lot more convenient and faster than before.

The app description reveals that it supports moving contacts, calendar events, photos, and videos from iPhone to Android. It says that data transfer takes place in a secure way. It will further provide users with tips to complete the setup process. It includes instructions for disabling iMessage and moving iCloud photos and videos to Google Photos.

It is important to note that Switch to Android is currently available as an unlisted app on the App Store. It means it can be accessed and downloaded only if you have the direct download link. It seems like Google wants to move ahead at a gradual place before deciding to make it available as a listed app.

In case you have been wondering about switching to iOS from Android, Apple has its own app called Move to iOS. It was debuted in 2015 and can be downloaded by searching on the Google Play Store.
